About My Clients
Do you seek a deeper connection with your partner, or even yourself? It seems that as much as we want to stay connected, we inevitably disconnect. For myself, I know there are ways I have disconnected from my goals, my partner or even the needs of my own body. As a mind-body Relationship Specialist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I have learned many practices that can help you and/or your partner reconnect to what matters to you most, personally, relationally, emotionally and sexually.
My Background and Approach
I take an active role during our sessions, offering tools that I've tested myself first. We unpack your stories while strengthening present-centered awareness. We then attend to your thoughts, feelings and your nervous system in the "here and now". I use verbal and non-verbal tools along with education, experiential exercises and support to help you strengthen health, healing and wholeness. I provide direct feedback and when appropriate, offer home practices to help you integrate content from your sessions into your everyday life. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based modalities to meet you where you are and to help you grow. These include Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Gestalt Therapy, the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Intersystemic Approach to Sex Therapy, Polyvagal Theory for Therapy and Somatic Therapy. I'm also a mindfulness and meditation practitioner and am Certified in Foundations of Svaroopa Yoga through Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal practices and professional work have shown me how strengthening attention to one's body, mind and spirit can help ease suffering, open one's heart to love, increase stress tolerance, decrease anxiety, strengthen resilience and improve relationships, intimacy and sex. Ultimately I've has seen how these practices help women and/or couples deepen connection and live more fully.
