My Background and Approach
As a counselor who has workedin intensive outpatient settings, university counseling centers, and inpatient hospitals for more than ten years, I've got a deep experience helping others through past trauma, depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and grief. I know how hard it is to carry this pain, and I'll use my knowledge, skills, and expertise to help free you from the past and build the life you want. People come to me because of my warmth and caring nature, but they keep coming back because they get the results they want. I weave together science-based approaches like IFS-Informed EMDR, somatic parts, and DBT to help you befriend yourself, creating resilience from the inside out. And only when you're ready, we'll do a gentle, powerful exploration of your past using EMDR to help take off that pain from your nervous system. My people tell me they feel uplifted after our sessions together, so let's work and get you to a better place!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you deserve a safe and sacred space to heal and discover that wholeness is actually who you are. Hurt happens in relationships, right? That means healing happens in the context of a supportive, caring, and compassionate counselor who will bear witness to you in love. We all need healthy, nourishing circles of support to grow into our most authentic selves. It truly is my honor and privilege to serve you as your counselor, and while I do love to work hard, I also love to play hard too. On weekends, I'm often painting watercolor landscapes or working out in my tiny porch garden, helping out at the local food pantry or away in New Mexico hiking. I look forward to hearing from you!
