About My Clients
My clients are often overwhelmed with anxiety about eating, their bodies, or their closest relationships. The majority of my clients are college students, post-grad, and/or part of the LGBTQ community. I work with individuals (16+) and couples. You can learn more about my practice at www.welcomeintherapy.com.
My Approach to Helping
Have you ever tried therapy and felt like you were just talking to a friend? Me too. While it is wonderful to have someone to listen and validate us, this level of support can be frustrating when we still find ourselves repeating the same behaviors again and again. This is why I practice mindfulness-based somatic (body-centered) therapy. We will go beyond traditional talk therapy to explore the unconscious beliefs and patterns that influence how you relate to yourself and the world around you. I also incorporate parts work to help you identify missing needs and learn self-regulation. My aim is to help you expand your options in how you can respond to life, guiding you toward greater alignment with your values and goals.
More About the People I Treat
Many clients come to see me when they find their life consumed by eating and body concerns. These issues can be exhausting– a never-ending cycle of behaviors that unintentionally reinforce feelings of inadequacy and isolation. If you can relate, I am here to help. Together, we will understand the important role these patterns play in your life and develop other ways to help you get your needs met. I also specialize in relationship anxiety including social anxiety, codependency, fear of rejection/abandonment, dating concerns, and exploration of sexuality. I work with both individuals and couples. We will work together to regulate your nervous system, allowing us to explore the root causes of your anxiety-- such as childhood or generational trauma-- and support you in healing these wounds to foster deeper trust and peace in your relationships.
