Accepting Clients

Hi! I'm a warm, curious, and thoughtful queer therapist who specializes in anxiety and grief.

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist in California

About My Clients

I see individual adults, dyads/ couples, and teens, and I tend to work best with people who are deeply curious to understand both themselves and the way that they show up in the world better. I specialize in working with women, queer and non-binary people, and people of color; I also specialize in issues related to social anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and grief.

My Background and Approach

Whether you are processing a death, questioning your career, working to express your boundaries more clearly, or struggling to access all your emotions, I would be honored to support you in your journey. My practice is heavily infused with mindfulness and compassion and our work together would be collaboratively guided by my training/ intuition with your expertise in your lived experience. I think and work holistically, pulling in consideration about your work environment, childhood, relationships, and intersecting identities. I genuinely welcome all people, of all identities and backgrounds, and am firmly committed to creating a space in which we can discuss the stickier dynamics that exist in our world. Feel free to check out my website at mayahsu.com to learn more about me and the type of therapy I do, and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a firm advocate of equality and inclusion, a member of the queer community, and am deeply affirming of non-monogamy, kink, and the legitimacy of sex work. Many of my clients are neurodivergent and differently abled.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
