About My Clients
I work with patients from every walk of life and a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I have particular experience working with individuals in university contexts, veterans, patients with chronic health concerns, and struggles related to gender and identity (men’s issues, LGTQIA+, and those from underrepresented and/or structurally oppressed backgrounds). I am actively completing training in and enjoy working with people with ADHD or executive function concerns.
My Background and Approach
I see relationships has central to therapy and the work typically is rooted in establishing a common purpose and agreed direction for counseling. We likely will explore your history, challenges and hopes as we tailor a treatment to face life’s challenges based on your unique strengths, concerns, and goals. I am an integrative clinician drawing particularly on contemporary psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, relational-cultural, and behavioral health treatments. I have been influenced by anti-racist, feminist, men and masculinities, and multicultural theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I find myself drawn to supporting people actualize their potential in the face of structural, social and a variety of other forms of oppression. I aspire to adopt a stance of cultural humility orienting towards an intersectional lens (with recognition of the power and privilege of social locations for both myself and clients).
