About My Clients
I approach therapy through a person-centered perspective, influenced by relational cultural theory and a social model of disability lens. I deeply value the importance of relationships and recognize how societal and cultural factors shape our experiences. I am especially dedicated to offering affirming care to neurodiverse individuals and those who identify as disabled, ensuring that everyone feels acknowledged and supported.
My Background and Approach
I earned my master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!). Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including adolescents, young adults, and adults in various settings, such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health agencies, and substance use treatment centers. My experience includes but is not limited to supporting individuals facing challenges like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply committed to supporting and uplifting Native American communities. I actively participate in cultural preservation efforts and work alongside Indigenous organizations to promote awareness of Native issues, including land sovereignty, education, and healthcare access. I believe in the importance of listening to and amplifying Native voices, especially in conversations about systemic injustices and the ongoing impact of colonialism.
