My Background and Approach
My goal is to help couples and families understand the underlying causes driving the patterns that create difficulties in their relationships. I use emotionally focused therapy (EFT), structural family systems therapy, and attachment theory to help individuals connect more authentically, without the fear of triggering others. In any relationship, it's essential to express needs while also understanding and responding to the needs of loved ones. By identifying interaction cycles, exploring why they exist, and moving toward meaningful change, I strive to increase safety, trust, and connection while reducing conflict and emotional distance. Whether working with couples or entire families, my approach centers on fostering healthier, more fulfilling relationships by helping everyone involved develop new, constructive ways of relating to one another.
Why I Became a Therapist
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own experiences of attachment trauma as a child of divorce. Growing up without a clear model for healthy relationships, I found myself struggling in partnerships, repeating cycles I couldn’t fully understand. However, over time, I began to heal through my relationships—the positive ones as well as the challenging ones. It was in this healing that I discovered how powerful our connections can be in shaping who we are. I became deeply curious about relationships, which led me to study them and understand the dynamics that help us grow. I realized that healthy relationships are key to emotional wellbeing, and that no one should have to navigate these challenges alone. I have since dedicated my life to helping others heal, grow, and strengthen their relationships, whether with their partners or families. After all, who are we without one another?
